Choosing a dry cooler for generator set cooling is driven by several key factors related to efficiency, maintenance, and environmental impact. Here are the main reasons why dry coolers might be selected:
Generator Remote Radiator is heat exchanger device that consists of a series of tubes and fins. Air passes over the fins, which are attached to the tubes carrying the hot fluid. This design increases the surface area for heat transfer, allowing the cooler to efficiently dissipate heat from the fluid into the surrounding air.
Vertical/Horizontal Remote Radiator is heat exchanger device consisting of a series of tubes covered with belt-like fins. The fins increase the surface area for heat transfer. The heat-carrying medium (such as water, steam, or oil) flows through the tubes, and heat is transferred through the tube walls to the fins, which then release the heat into the surrounding air.
A dry cooler transfers heat from a fluid, typically water or antifreeze, to the surrounding air. As the fluid circulates through the unit, it passes through a heat exchanger made of metal, enhancing thermal conductivity. Air is drawn into the heat exchanger by fans or through natural convection, allowing it to absorb heat from the fluid.
