A double-skin air handling unit is built for applications that demand more than basic ventilation. By sandwiching an insulated core between two metal skins, the unit gains thermal insulation, air tightness and acoustic control from its casing — properties that directly affect energy performance and indoor comfort. IMMERSION ENERGY supplies modular double-skin AHUs configured for air conditioning, ventilation, cooling, heating and air filtration in commercial, industrial and critical environments.
1. Thermal performance. Polyurethane foam or rock wool insulation, in 25–50mm thickness, sits between the skins to reduce heat transfer through the casing. The result is lower energy loss and more stable supply air temperatures.
2. Airtightness. The reinforced double-skin panel structure limits air leakage, preventing untreated air from entering the airstream and preserving the design performance of the system.
3. Acoustic control. The insulated core dampens casing borne noise, which matters in healthcare, office and other noise sensitive spaces.

The outer skin uses galvanized or pre-coated steel for weather resistance. The inner skin is specified as galvanized steel or stainless steel depending on hygiene requirements — stainless steel is the natural choice where surfaces must be cleanable. Structural framing uses extruded aluminum or stainless steel profiles, providing the strength needed for larger units.
The unit is assembled from functional sections selected for each application: cooling coil, heating coil, filter, fan, damper and mixing sections can be combined as the project requires. This modular approach allows the same platform to serve a small commercial installation or a critical data center environment without redesigning the equipment from scratch.
The combination of thermal efficiency, low leakage and quiet operation makes double-skin AHUs suitable for commercial buildings, industrial facilities, data centers and healthcare projects — wherever stable air quality and predictable energy performance are part of the specification.
